In October 2024, Reedi and I had a special trip planned to meet up with our daughter, Ari, in Washington, DC, for her Fall Break. Instead of a quick flight or a boring interstate drive, we decided to make an adventure out of getting to the East Coast!

We took our sweet time heading towards DC, with our sights set on exploring the beautiful Outer Banks. We spent a wonderful five days meandering through Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina. Along the way, we made some fantastic stops in Amelia Island (Florida), the charming city of Savannah (Georgia), lovely Hilton Head (South Carolina), and the historic Kitty Hawk (North Carolina).

By Wednesday, we rolled into Virginia and had the pleasure of catching up with some dear old friends in the Virginia Beach area. After a lovely visit, we left Virginia Beach on Friday and made a stop at Colonial Williamsburg before zipping up to DC to meet Ari at the airport.

We had a fantastic full day exploring the Nation’s Capitol with Ari before we started heading west and south in Nigel, making our way back to Atlanta. Our return journey included visits to the stunning New River Gorge National Park and the breathtaking Shenandoah National Park. What a trip! More pictures are on the way!
