THE MIDWEST AND TORONTO

THE MIDWEST AND TORONTO

Just got back from an amazing week-long adventure with Reedi, Ari, and Tre’! We packed a lot into this trip, hitting Milwaukee, Chicago, Indiana Dunes National Park, Toledo, Detroit, Toronto, Niagara-on-the-Lake, and Niagara Falls!

Day 1 started with an afternoon in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where we got our first taste of the local scene and some tasty treats. Then, we hopped on a train and headed straight into the Windy City! We spent the next couple of days exploring Chicago. We visited iconic spots like Navy Pier, the incredible Natural History Museum, and the fascinating Federal Reserve Money Museum. We stayed right in the heart of the Theater District, which was perfect. And the food? We made sure to sample some of Chicago’s best – deep-dish pizza, classic hot dogs, and mouthwatering Italian beef sandwiches. So good!

Day 4 was all about nature as we made our way to Indiana Dunes National Park. We tackled some great hikes, including the “Dune Succession Trail/Diana’s Dare” and the challenging Three Dune Challenge. What a workout with beautiful views!

After a quick stop in Toledo, Ohio, we drove to Detroit, Michigan. The Henry Ford Museum was a real highlight – we had such a great time there! And we couldn’t leave Detroit without trying the famous Detroit-style pizza at Buddy’s Pizza, a true landmark. From there, we crossed the border into Canada and spent a night in Windsor, Ontario.

Days 5 and 6 were spent in downtown Toronto. We dove into Canadian cuisine with poutine and hot pot, both delicious! We also found the PATH, Toronto’s underground walkway, to be quite the experience.

Day 7 was a treat as we spent the day in the charming Niagara-on-the-Lake, enjoying some lovely shopping and snacks. Then, it was time for the grand finale: Niagara Falls! We were able to experience the majesty of the falls from both the Canadian and US sides, which was truly spectacular. What an unforgettable trip!
