In May 2024, we dropped our daughter off in Monroe, La., to catch her ride to Cimarron, New Mexico, to staff Philmont Scout Ranch for her second year. After dropping her off on Saturday morning, Reedi and I headed north into Arkansas for a long weekend of hiking, eating, and mining crystals.
